Charlie Harrison Borgh

Charles Harrison Borgh
Age 26
Washington State, formerly of Sioux City, IA, and Minneapolis, MN
Killed April 20 in a climbing accident in the Canadian Rockies.

A Midwestern outdoorsman, Charlie fell in love with mountains in college and hasn’t stopped climbing since. His strength and abilities were admired by his fellow climbers, and his smile and warmth were admired by everyone. A high school valedictorian, he played soccer and participated in Quiz Bowl. At Whitman College he majored in history and mountains. He climbed throughout the West and worked for four years as a climbing ranger at Mount Rainier National Park. He was tall, gentle and quietly funny and will be so very much missed by his family, fiancée and friends. Charlie is preceded in death by his grandparents, Harrison and Betty Ann Freeman and Carl and Madelynne Borgh. He is survived by his loving parents, John and Mary Borgh of Minneapolis, MN, his sister and brother-in-law, Bryn and Nels Olsen of Madison, WI, his fiancée, Kristina Mustacich of Washington State, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

It's either too late at night or too early in the morning to write this but was afraid I wouldn't get to it if not now.

We would like to thank all of you that have particpated in making this blog site happen. I have seen and spoken with many of Charlie's friends for the first time in the last week. We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of support and the insights shared by all of you about my adult son.

Love to you all
John (and Mary) Borgh
